Hollywood-Themed Sweet 16 Puts a Unique Spin on Classic Party

To many youngsters, turning 16 is a huge accomplishment. The age marks one of the first milestones in a young adult's life. They are given more responsibility and taking the next step toward becoming independent. Along with the added perks, one of the most traditional aspects of this birthday is celebrating with one's closets family and friends. Why not put a unique spin on this tradition with a glamorous Hollywood-themed sweet 16? The birthday boy or girl will certainly love it!

For starters, you'll want to select fantastic invitations. One direction you could take is to frame the party as an exclusive movie premiere. This can easily be done with announcements - just make sure to include plenty of flashy imagery on them. Shimmering stars outlining the borders will look great.Another direction you can take is to purchase invitations that resemble movie tickets, which will be a clever variation on classic announcements.

Hollywood is famous for its decadence and elegant celebrities,so you will have to ensure that your birthday bash appropriately reflects the atmosphere of Tinseltown. A good place to begin would be to hang up a Hollywood skyline scene setter. Securing a view of the famous city at night as a backdrop to your shindig is a terrific starting point. Next, you should think about including plenty of gold and black decorations throughout your home, as the two colors are frequently associated with moviemaking. (one word) They can be incorporated in a number of different ways, but an effective choice would be to string gold and black star garland around the area of the get-together. The color scheme can be bolstered by inflating some balloons of the same shade. Having a handful of these birthday party staples floating around will likely leave your guests delighted. For a final touch, you can mimic the look and feel of a movie premiere by laying a red floor runner at the foot of your home's entrance. Partygoers will feel like they are arriving at an exclusive event and the small detail will add a touch of classy grace to the event.

The next step is to guarantee that you have the right supplies. As is the case with most parties, you should stock up on paper plates, napkins and cups. Try to select paper goods that are decorated with the iconic image of the Hollywood sign and watch your guests go crazy for them.

Of course, there are other supplies you'll need in addition to paper goods. Many actors are famous for their elaborate wardrobe and fashion accessories, so why not provide your guests with similarly outrageous props? Partygoers will love donning some oversized, funky sunglasses or showing off a green feather boa.

You only turn 16 once, so you should try your best to make it unforgettable for the guest of honor. The memories of a sweet 16 can last for years to come, and an especially elegant affair will be sure to put a smile on their face.

Planning a 50th Birthday Party

Invitations: These provide guests with the first hint as to the theme of your party. Will you be serious and elegant or have more of a playful, teasing theme? Finestationery.com has a number of sophisticated designs in many colors. Black cards with silver writing are particularly popular, and provide beautiful colors for the party decorations. Fun "Over the Hill" invitations are also available at vistaprint.com as are photo invitations for a truly unique option.

Decorations: For the simpler party, consider silver and gold balloons with silver and black streamers. You can place Happy 50th Birthday party signs at the door, or in the yard if guests need to park at the party. You can also place gold 50 centerpiece spray in the middle of each table, available at amazon.com/Century-Novelty-50-Centerpiece-Spray. For the playful party, consider ordering inflatable canes and walkers, as well as Senior Moment caution signs or cones. All of the items are available at Party City, whether you choose to search the store or look online.

Food: Whether you are serving a meal or just light refreshments, include some of the celebrant's favorites. Desserts are always a show stopper - a decorated sheet cake, or several decorated layer cakes, will look beautiful. Cupcakes are also very popular. Make them special with either personalized cupcake toppers putting photos on the frosting. Order edible images from icingimages.com.

Favors: There are many unique favors you can order to help guests remember your special celebration. Edible favors include birthday oreos, decorated especially for you, or birthday fortune favors, which are dipped in chocolate. Other fun ideas include personalized playing cards, complete with the date and celebrant's name on the box, or grippy socks in colors that match your decorations. These two choices can be used by guests repeatedly.

Top 10 Ideas For Spiderman Party Supplies, Games and Decorations

1. Invite your guests to your Spiderman birthday party with colorful theme invitations. Or create your own using bright red (or black) construction paper or cardstock. Fold the paper in half, write, "Swing on over to ______'s (your child's name) birthday party!" and then attach cobwebs and fake spiders to the outside. Include all the party details on the inside.

2. Greet your guests at the door with a 5' Scene Setter. Place an Amazing Birthday Banner in your entryway. Around your party room, place eye-catching 5' Super Hero add-ons as well as City Scapes to create the perfect setting.

3. Hang Spiderman 12" balloons and danglers from the ceiling. Add red and black balloons and use similar colors of crepe paper to create "webs" around the room. Or buy cobwebs and plastic spiders to hang in the four corners of the room.

4. Use a bright red tablecover for your party table and be sure to have themed plates, cups, bowls and napkins ready! Use a colorful character candle for the birthday cake and a character (or spider) Pinata as a centerpiece.

5. Dress your child in a Spiderman costume for his or her birthday party! Costumes are available in various sizes and come in black and red (including glow, fiberoptic and comic costumes). If your child doesn't want to wear the full costume, he or she may opt for Gloves and/or Boot Tops.

6. As your guests arrive, you can hand each one a Blowout, a Paper Mask or a Spider Ring.

7. "Spiderman, Spiderman, We Need Help!" (Number of Players: 5 or more) One person is chosen to be "It" (he or she can even put on the costume, gloves, or boot tops) and he/she goes out of the room. The rest of the group then holds hands in a circle (standing up). After that, they can step over, go under, and twist each other's arms--anything they can think of to created a web for the person who is "It" to figure out. The only rule is that they can't let go of each other's hands.

When they're done getting twisted up, the group yells, "Spiderman! Spiderman! We Need Help!" Then the person who is "It" comes out and tries to untangle the group by telling them what to do, such as where to step, which way to twist, etc. Once again, the participants cannot let go each other's hands. If he/she can get them untangled, he wins. But if he can't get them untangled, then the group wins. Different people can take turns being "It" for other rounds.

8. "Black Magic" (Number of Players: 3 or more) This is a game where there's a secret. Two people have to be in on the secret for the game to work. One of the two people goes out of the room, and one stays in. The person in the room helps the group decide on an object. Then the other person comes back into the room and tries to guess what object was chosen.

The person who remained in the room, let's call her "Jo", points to different things around the room, and says, "Is this it?" Then the "seeker", let's call her Sally, either says "yes" or "no". The object can be anything, even a zipper or something discreet like that. The object of the game is for the other members of the group to figure out how Sally is guessing it, so don't tell the secret to the group.

The secret is: Sally knows what the chosen object is because Jo points to a BLACK object before she points to the chosen object, thus the name, "Black Magic".

9. Pinata time! Use your Spiderman (or spider) pinata centerpiece--having previously filled it with Spider Rings, Punch Balls, character Tattoos, character Stickers, Mini Dots and an assortment of red and black (or your child's favorite) candies. Use a Pinata Bat and Blindfold and let each child have three hits until the pinata breaks. Be sure to have loot bags on hand!

10. After your party ends, use Spiderman Thank You notes to send or deliver to your guests. You may want to include an additionalparty favor (such as stickers or mini dots) in each one.

Third Party Food Delivery Services in the City

If you work and live in a big U.S. city, your time is likely very precious. You are constantly on the go - you have a demanding job and a frustrating commute. You barely have time to eat. Your cooking skills are limited, and you barely have time to cook even if you could. Picking up food from your favorite restaurant is often times a pain. Additionally, you can easily get sick of having the same few places deliver food to you over and over again.

This is where third party food delivery services come in to play. These food delivery services can save you a ton of time and allow you to eat food from your favorite restaurant any day of the week in the comfort of your own home. Third party food delivery services are business that essentially pick up food from local restaurants and then bring the food to you. With these services, you can get food from your favorite restaurant any time you want - even if the restaurant does not normally deliver. By using these services, you are no longer limited to pizza, Chinese food, and the same old boring food that you are used to. These services allow you to order food for delivery from your favorite Italian restaurant, your favorite Steakhouse, or your favorite sandwich shop.

In a major U.S. city, these services usually charge a fee of $4-$9 dollars. The service/delivery fee may depend on the restaurant that you want to get food from and the time of the day that you want the food to be delivered. Delivery via one of these services usually takes about 1-2 hours. Typically, they take slightly longer than standard delivery from a restaurant does. So, if you use one of these services, be sure to leave plenty of time and to plan accordingly.

Overall, these services are great and allow you a great deal of freedom when it comes to your time and meals. However, there are a couple potential downsides. First, each third party service usually has a different set of restaurants that it deals with. So, not every service will be able to deliver food to you from every restaurant you want. Second, sometimes delivery can take a bit longer than usual. Because these services add another party to the mix, there is a potential delay involved. Also, depending on what city you live in, these services can be a bit on the expensive side. This is the price that you will pay for a great convenience.

A handful of these delivery services are now located in just about every major U.S. city. They can be found by searching the internet, looking in the yellow pages, or by calling directory assistance. Once you are able to locate a service that works out well for you, your dining options will never again be limited.

Great Bachelor Party Destinations - Less Frequently Visited Cities

Just about every guy loves a good bachelor party. Few things are more enjoyable than a weekend to spend with your closest male friends one last time before the bachelor gets married.

Choosing the right city for the occasion can be the difference between a good weekend and an unforgettable one. The right mix of entertainment, convenience, and cost all factor into this and should be taken into consideration when planning.

I'd like to offer up three less frequented possibilities that may spark your interest if you're planning the event now. These are great cities that don't pop up onto the radar as often, but you'll be sure to have a blast if you visit any one of them.

The first one I'll mention is Austin, Texas. This is a great destination for anyone living in the Western part of the country or the South, or even those on the East coast looking for a cheaper option than Las Vegas.

Great weather, a bustling music scene, and a lively nightlife highlight Austin, not to mention its reasonable prices in comparison to cities like Vegas.

Why not go international with a trip to Montreal? If you've never been there, you'll undoubtedly be impressed with the city, which has undertones of Paris and other European metropolises.

Just about everyone who visits Montreal enjoys it and a visit there could serve as a nice change of pace in the world of bachelor parties.

Lastly, Nashville has a lot more going on than most people realize. With incredible restaurants, a lively bar scene, and a lot more to do, the country music capital of the world may be worth a visit if you're looking to do something different.

Try any one of these cities if you're in need of bachelor party ideas. I have a feeling you'll like the unique things that each one of these destinations offers.

Party Decorations and Themes

If you're artistic, making your own party decorations can be extremely fun and cost-efficient. On the other hand, if you're pressed for time, celebration supply stores and online discount celebration supply sites can be a real blessing.

To make things even easier, some celebration rental services bring all the actors, party decorations and backdrops for you, if you're willing to pay for it. After setting your budget, we can examine the various options.

First, choose a theme for your party decorations. Some possible ideas for an adult theme celebration include: luau, western, circus, safari, Hollywood, 1950s, Roaring 20s, disco, space, pirate, sports, Las Vegas, Arabian Nights, medieval times, Mardi Gras, Spanish fiesta, rock and roll or futuristic.

Kids often enjoy character and pop culture themes, like: Spiderman, Pirates of the Caribbean, Bob the Builder, Dora the Explorer, Finding Nemo, Pokemon, Harry Potter or American Idol.

If you're interested in making your own decorations for a kids party, Coolest-kid-birthday-parties is a great resource. For example, with an undersea theme, you can follow step-by-step instructions on making a Finding Nemo pinata, a shark mouth standee to take photos next to and seashell party invitations. In addition to decoration ideas for various themes, the site also has food and activity tips.

If you'd rather purchase items, Party City is a great store where you can get accent themes like: disco, rock and roll, luau, movie night, fiesta, casino and western.

If you're throwing a fiesta, you can buy decorations like: chili pepper garland ($2.29), scene setters ($5), cut-outs ($3 - $10), chili pepper lights ($10), an inflatable cactus ($5), a maraca centerpiece ($3), an inflatable sombrero cooler ($13) and a pinata ($10 - $20).

You might also want to check online at Orientaltradingpost for similar items. They have twelve assorted inflatable items for $20 in the fiesta theme and great deals on bulk celebration favors.

Tableware and partyware add a nice touch to a theme party, often functioning as additional party decorations; however, the cost of these items can be exorbitant.

Most vendors sell plates in packages of eight, which is fine for intimate gatherings, but can be a nightmare if you're having fifty plus people attending. Partysupplydirect has similar deals for partyware but more selection.

A budget-conscious solution if you're not looking to spend $100 in partyware would be to purchase solid-color plates and cutlery but buy a couple of themed serving dishes, tablecloths and straws at half the cost. Another good way to stay on budget is to split expenses with other people and delegate partyware purchases.

While it is the most expensive option, hiring Premier Casino Events to provide the celebration decorations for you could be an elaborate and all-in-one, stress-free way to throw your celebration.

If you were throwing a Halloween one, not only would the company bring fog machines, coffins, cobwebbed park benches, trick mirrors and cemetery gates, but they would also bring casino games, ghoulish actors, music and food to entertain your guests for a full four hours as well!

Looking online for party decorations is a good way to brainstorm ideas. You may choose to make a few things yourself, like a pinata, or you may purchase decorations from a store.

Try to make your purchases thoughtful and don't waste money on things you'll never use again. Delegating responsibilities to co-planners can also help you cut costs and share the excitement with friends, especially when it comes to a surprise birthday party!

Does A Bachelorette Party Have To Be Expensive?

Organizing a budget for your bachelorette party can be tough, especially if a lot of your funds have already been saved for the wedding. However, there are cheap bachelorette party ideas, so you don't have to spend too much. If you are on a tight budget, then, you should plan a bachelorette party within that budget.

Do not invite too many friends. If your budget can only accommodate about 20 girls, then, just choose those very close to you. This is the first thing to do.

When choosing the venue, choose one close to home. But, you also have to consider where the other guests live. Some may have to travel from a different city. Ask invited friends if they could come even if you don't shoulder their fares. If one already lives in another country, you should ask them first if they could come. Your closest friends would want to attend.

Instead of choosing a hotel room, you can have the party at your house or at a friend's. You will not have to pay any rent, plus you will also have greater freedom, meaning you can do whatever you want. However, just make sure that the music will not be too loud so that the neighbors won't get annoyed. You and your girl friends can even have a free "sleepover" at the house.

Tell friends to have dinner first before going to the party. This way, you will not have to spend too much on food. Bachelorette parties are not banquet gatherings. A few snacks and drinks will do. If you want to serve dinner, then, you may cook at home. You can also ask a few of your friends to help with the cooking. Preparing the food by yourself is more economical compared to catering, as it will only add more to your expenses.

You can have fun with games that do not require expensive bachelorette party supplies. These parties usually feature blindfold games, naughty toys and prizes. If you have little budget for these, you can opt for simple games, like "truth or consequence", which does not require special equipment.

Gossips and movie treats are free! In case you run out of game ideas, you can always talk about what has been going on in each other's lives. This gathering is the perfect chance for you and your friends to catch up with one another, as most of you have probably become too busy to have time to meet up and talk. As for the movies, make sure you rent DVDs so that you have something to watch later.

Entertainment does not have to be expensive. You probably have a stereo system, which you could use. You can download disco music from the internet to use in your party. Then, you can just rent a disco ball to have that disco club feeling.

As for the male stripper part, there is no need to hire a group of men. Only one should do, especially if you are only inviting a few girls. If you are a conservative group of women, you may skip on this one.

Do not hesitate to ask friends to help you with the expenses. It's not necessarily embarrassing and it's not a terrible thing to do, especially if it can raise the budget to make things more fun for everyone.

Reputation of a Party City

The party city of Los Angeles

Los Angeles has acquired the reputation for being a party city. It remains to be seen whether this reputation is really deserved or whether they are getting a bad deal. In any case there is plenty of evidence that the city positively revels in the reputation that it has acquired. At the end of the day Los Angeles will be one of the cities that make it to the very top. Here are some tips for the tourists.

It is imperative that the accommodation is resolved at the first opportunity. This is an area where the accommodation is at a premium. If the visitor does not make the bookings early enough then they might end up with problems of attempting to coordinate the different elements of the program. It will be very difficult to deal with the visit if the tourist is not given the opportunity to have safe accommodation when they visit. Los Angeles is friendly but not so friendly for the people that do not have their boundaries.
The city life in Los Angeles is best enjoyed with a central location. That means that the selection of the location must look for the central places because they have been found to be very lucrative for the visitors in terms of points of interest. It does not cost much to see them when the overall benefits are taken into consideration. If the tourists decide to go to the countryside they will need to deal with the issues of transportation which must be very difficult.
It is not a good idea to visit the seedy parts of Los Angeles. There are plenty of nice places to visit apart from the seedy areas. The areas are full of criminality and there might be embarrassing situations where by the tourist is even unable to make any representations because the situation has gone out of hand. It is better to concentrate on the areas that have a fairly good reputation for security and facilities for the visitors. They have enough to keep the person interested right from the beginning. It is generally not a good idea to go for the areas that have problems.
The tourist should look for guides to give them support in the way that they handle the tour. Unless the person has an in depth knowledge of Los Angeles it is probably a good idea to listen to the people that know something about the area. That might be the difference between finding the best spots and getting lost.
The city of Los Angeles is all about fun and the visitors should not forget to have fun. You should not just do the planning for the holiday but enjoy it. There is a temptation to concentrate on just the serious issues of managing the holiday when there is a great world out there where the visitor can shine and get the very best services. That is the value of Los Angeles.

This is when the Department Store of Macy's sponsors their annual Thanks Giving Day Parade. This is a truly American holiday and for the most part only Americans go to New York during this time to celebrate it. Many just go for the day to see the parade while others spend the night.

In April there is Good Friday on the 2nd and Easter on the 4th. In May there is Cinco de Mayo on the 5th, Mother's Day on the 9th and Memorial Day on the 31st. Father's Day is the only holiday in June and is on the 20th.
